You may certainly bring a visitor with you or have someone stop by to see you. Our only rule is that you can only have one person back with you while you are getting tattoed.

Can I bring my kids?

Kids are allowed in our lobby area but may not enter the work area of our tattoo shop under any circumstances (even for a consultation).

What’s with the narwhal?

Reverend Dr. Justin R. Moen, Ph.D., has been with us for many years. He was once a wild beast off the coast of Nova Scotia until one day he met his match: Noah “The Brave” Kilsdonk. The battle was fierce and lasted for many moons, but alas, Noah The Brave emerged victorious from the cold ocean waters, dragging the great beast to shore with his bared teeth. Upon realizing the devastation that Noah had inflicted upon the sea unicorn, he fell to his knees and began to mend and heal the great animal. They became close friends and embarked upon a bike trip together (luckily, Noah had a sidecar just the right size for his new narwhal friend). Noah named the narwhal Justin R. Moen and they became best friends forever. Justin, the narwhal, moved away from the coast to the mid-west to study land mammals. He completed his Ph.D. in animal sciences before realizing that his true calling was to be a reverend. He did just that and lived out the last of his days preaching the good word of the Force until finding his final resting place here at No Coast. On our wall.

How much does it cost?

It depends on placement, size, style, and who is performing your tattoo. We have hourly rates that vary from $150/hour to $200/hour with an $100 shop minimum, and a $80 minimum for tattoos with the shop apprentice. Send the shop or your artist an email to set up a consultation and they can go over cost estimates, and designs, and we will help you get set up with your tattoo appointment from there.

How do I set up an appointment?

If you know which artist you would like to work with, email them directly with photo references and details (size, placement, color, style) about the tattoo you would like to get. They will help you iron out the details and let you know how long to book. Then call the shop and ask for an appointment for that amount of time with the corresponding artist.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Please check out our deposit and cancellation policy for more information if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.

What should I bring to my appointment? What should I do before I arrive?

Stay hydrated and eat before you come. Wear loose, comfortable clothing, keeping in mind you may have to remove the garment covering the area you’ll be getting tattooed. Bring a state or Federal issued ID, your method of payment, and anything you want to keep yourself amused…movies, music, games, and headphones if you choose to use these items.

Does it hurt?

No. Yes. Ok, a little. Pain is different for everyone, and it depends on the size, placement, and style of the tattoo being performed. Does it hurt? Yes. Can you get through it? Absolutely.

Will it fade?

Yes. Part of the beauty of tattooing is that it becomes more and more a part of you as you age. You can slow the effects of aging the same way you slow ALL effects of aging: moisturize, sunscreen, avoid friction and the sun.

Will tattoos make me cooler?

If the force is with you, you will become very cool.

Do I tip?

You are not required to tip on top of the cost of your tattoo, but it is always appreciated! If you would like to tip us, you may do so using a card or cash. Some clients even bring us homemade goodies/gifts! We love and appreciate all of it.

Can you fix or cover up my old tattoo?

Probably! Email us a picture and we can talk about your options.
